In short.

No accountNo sign-up, login or password. You open it and read.
No ads or trackingNothing is sold and no one follows you across apps and sites.
Stays on your deviceYour name, ZIP code, history and what you read never go to a server of ours.
Only anonymous countsHow many people open the app or the digest, without knowing who. No statisticsThe Android app sends no usage counts.

Who is responsible

The party responsible for the data (data controller, under Brazil's LGPD) is Gazeta's developer, Natã Monteiro Reis. For any privacy matter, write to contato@appgazeta.com.

What we don't collect

  • An account, name, email or phone number.
  • What you read, search for or save.
  • Your GPS location. The app only uses the ZIP code you type.
  • Contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
  • Advertising data. There are no ads and no data sales.

Usage statistics

To learn what works, the iPhone app sends anonymous counts to TelemetryDeck, a European analytics service.

It sends how many people open the app, the digest or an article, which topics are most followed, the iPhone model and the iOS version. Along with that goes a scrambled device code, with no name and no stored IP: there's no way to get to you from it.

The Android app sends no statistics at all.

What stays on your device

Your profile, preferences, saved articles, reading history, trash, forecast cities and the lottery numbers you check. All of it stays on your iPhoneon your phone.

To clear history, trash and cache, go to Settings › App data. Deleting the app deletes what's in it.

Backup

Your profile, photo, preferences and saved articles are copied to the iCloud of your Apple account, so they come back if you reinstall the app or switch iPhones.

The iCloud is yours, not a server of ours: we have no access. To turn it off, go to Settings › App data.

Your profile, photo, preferences and saved articles go into the Android backup, in your Google account, so they come back if you reinstall the app or switch phones.

We have no access to that backup. To turn it off or delete the copy, go to Android settings, under Google › Backup.

What leaves your device

The app fetches everything straight from the source, without going through a server of ours. Here's who receives what.

Papers and news sitesThe public RSS feeds of the outlets you choose. They receive only the feed request, just like when you open their site.
ViaCEPReceives the ZIP code you type, once, only to find your city and state.
Apple MapsReceives the city name for the forecast, to find its coordinates.
MET NorwayThe Norwegian Meteorological Institute receives the city's approximate coordinates, never your location. The coordinates come from a table already inside the app.
Public dataElections (TSE, October 2026 only), exchange ratesExchange rates (Central Bank), lotteries (Caixa) and Congress votes (Chamber and Senate). They receive nothing of yours.
News imagesIf the option is on, each image comes from the outlet's own server, just like when you open its site.
TelemetryDeckReceives the anonymous counts described under Statistics.
TranslationRuns on the phone itself. The first time, Google sends the language pack; the article text never leaves your device.

Holidays are calculated on the device itself. Translation and digests with Apple Intelligence run on the iPhone.

Reading on the paper's site

When you open an article on the outlet's site, the page loads in the system browser. There, the outlet's own privacy policy applies.

Notifications

Digests are scheduled on the device itself. Nothing leaves it for that, and there's no Gazeta notification server.

Website form

If you write through the form at appgazeta.com/contato, your name, email and message reach Gazeta by email, sent through Resend from Vercel, which hosts the site.

We use it only to reply to you. None of it goes into the app, and you can ask us to delete the conversation at any time.

Website statistics

This site, appgazeta.com, counts visits to learn what works: pages opened, buttons tapped, how far the page was scrolled, where the visit came from, approximate city and type of device and browser.

To tell visits apart, the browser stores a random code, without cookies. We don't store IP addresses, names or emails, and the code doesn't say who you are. The data stays on Upstash and Vercel and is deleted after about a year without visits. To not be counted, clear this site's data in your browser.

Your rights

Under Brazil's LGPD, you can request access to, correction of or deletion of your data at any time, by email at contato@appgazeta.com.

Since we don't keep your data on a server of ours, what's yours is on your device and in your iCloudin your Google account backup, under your control. If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes too.
